First Haircut!

So crazy, I can't believe I just got back from getting her haircut! She totally looks like she's 3. The lady (who by the way completely looked like your stereotypical Jersey girl with outlined lips that were 10 shades darker than the inside of her lips, tats and vericose veins like a roadmap) was good with her and gave her a cup of goldfish crackers. What could be better? Oh, maybe that she got to sit in a fire engine seat and watch a video of Elmo? She did great, just sat there taking it all in and didn't seem to mind one bit! Here are some pictures of our big girl!

Hannah Gray and an officer

So, maybe she already has a thing for guys in uniform?? Totally random and a long story, but we had a cop come pay us a visit to get a statement from us. Turns out he has an 18 month old son and Hannah Gray LOVED him. He asked if he could hold her and she leaned out right for him and didn't want to come back to me when it was time for him to go. I was actually glad that she wasn't afraid of him like a lot of little kids are. Ethan grabbed the camera for a couple quick shots.

Miss opinionated

Well, Hannah Gray is definitely developing her own sense of who she is and what she wants! This week, she's really taken to picking out clothes from her closet, mostly gravitating towards her jackets (just like her mom, I love jackets!!). This week it was so rainy and pretty chilly, that she had to wear her rain coat, but not without her fleece or hoody underneath it first. Then today, it was about 80, and when she woke up from her nap, she was desperately reaching for her hoody and wore it around the rest of the day (even after Daddy gave her her bath and had her pjs on, she wanted to wear the hoody too). So today and yesterday, she picked out her outfit, and actually she looked pretty sinkin' cute yesterday! Here are some pictures. (notice what she's playing with as well and what she's holding in the grocery bag... :) that's my girl!!).

Yesterday, we took her to a local little festival thingy where they had a petting zoo and pony rides. We waited in line for the rides for quite a while and I was convinced that as soon as she got close enough to the horse for me to put her on, she'd realize what was going on and start shaking her head no, so adamantly like she does. But she didn't, so LOVED it!!! And she LOVED the petting zoo too! She kept asking to go back to the alpaca, which was so soft, but had the MOST wicked under bite and nasty teeth than I have ever seen in my life (that includes traveling to Europe). The problem was that Hannah Gray wanted to pet it's neck (which is super long, like a Llama), and the alpaca wanted its face in mine, hence this wretched picture. But Hannah Gray got to pet it and that's what matters. :)

Oh, and on our way out the door yesterday, Ethan grabbed our grocery bags so we could run some errands while we were gone. He put Hannah Gray in one of the bags and she thought it was hilarious! She looked so funny and cute, so I had to include a couple pictures of that as well.

Her Mother's Daughter

Okay, I think I've posted before that Hannah Gray has this new fascination with her bike/snow helmet. She'll walk over to the closet and reach up for the top shelf where we keep it and just say "please" over and over again. Well, she did that like crazy today, but combined it with her other new thing, playing with her lacrosse stick. So here's a picture of her two new favorite things, combined... does this mean we have a goalie on our hands?!

Puppy!!!

After our weekend in Kentucky, my mom sent a special package to Hannah Gray. Here are some pictures of Hannah Gray opening a package that included a little puppy that my mom had at home for Hannah Gray. She has slept with it and eaten with it since she opened it a couple days ago.

Labor Day Weekend

Over the Labor Day weekend, we flew to Ohio and joined my family at my parent's lake house on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky. We had a great time with Mimi and Grandpa on Friday and then my brother Keith and his family (Sarah, Emalyn and Caleb) joined us Friday evening. We had a great weekend with family. Hannah Gray loved the time with her grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins. Caleb generously lent Hannah Gray his stuffed puppy that she immediately became attached to as she slept with it and carried it everywhere. Go figure, it's a dog!! :)

Ethan picked some earphones up for Hannah Gray thinking that she may leave ones on her ears that are designed for kids. She has sat mesmerized by our Praise Baby dvd, so we put it on our Zune for the flight to Ohio. Here is a picture of her watching her video with her new earphones on. Unfortunately, our luggage did not arrive with us in Ohio late Thursday night, so en route to the lake we made a stop at Target to pick up some necessities (like swim suits). But we figured Hannah Gray could swim in her diaper, so she's in her pjs in just about all of her pictures b/c that was the other outfit I had with me in my carry on! Oh well! On Friday, Hannah Gray spotted the lake and COULD NOT WAIT to get in the water! She loves the pool, but a lake is completely different with it being so big and dark and deep. It didn't make a difference to her! We waited for Grandpa to come pick us up in the boat and Hannah Gray couldn't wait any longer, so Ethan held her and dipped her (like reverse jumping, very fast) into the water. She LOVED it! Here are some more pictures from the weekend, but they are mostly from Friday as my camera battery went low by Friday night! :( She had so much fun (as you can see her conked out on the boat for her nap) and was wiped out at the end of the day. She needed a ride in the dock cart, but she was so content and comfy there and snuggling with Grandpa. :)

Nut Case

This last spring we bought Hannah Gray a multi-sport helmet. It was big at the time, but figured it will work for biking, skiing, etc. She didn't seem to mind it too much, but then would get quickly annoyed with it on a bike ride. To be honest, we just kind of stopped putting it on her if we weren't road biking because she's secure in her bike trailer. Well, just a few days ago, she kept going to closest and pointing and asking for something on her top shelf. The only thing up there is her travel bag and her helmet. So last night, Ethan and I figured we'd ask her if it was the helmet she wanted and sure enough it was! We couldn't believe it. She grinned and asked us to put it on her. So last night she played with her helmet on and this morning, she did the same thing! The brand of helmet is Nut Case and it's about protecting your "nut". It's actually pretty cute and she thought it was funny when Ethan would call her "nutcase".

Peek a boo!

Hannah Gray all of a sudden started playing peek-a-boo on her own with us last week. Here's a quick video, but she thought she was pretty big stuff. Too stinkin' cute.
