"I love you more than..."

This is the new favorite game amongst the girls. They are silly and sincere all at the same time. This was yesterday morning as they were snuggling in our bed while I was getting ready. They are so sweet!

Truckee, Monterey, Roseville and San Francisco...

My parents were in town this last week and we saw most major attractions in NorCA. They arrived Sat afternoon and on Sunday we headed up to explore Truckee and enjoy the weather. Monday, we headed to Monterey to see the aquarium and Carmel. We returned Tuesday and stayed in Riseville until Friday when we joined my dad in San Francisco (he had a conference to go to while we were back home). Our time in San Francisco included Hannah Gray ice skating for the first time at Union Square, "modeling" at Saks, a break in into our car, a ferry ride to Saulsilito, and HG doing the big trampoline jump where she's in a harness. She figured it out right away and amazed everyone with flip after flip after flip. The Jr high girls before her couldn't do it so the workers let Hannah Gray keep going once she figured it out. It was hilarious, she was so proud of herself.  We left after getting our car fixed to come home late Sat night. We had a great time and I will post more pictures soon. My camera was being repaired so our pics are scattered between cell phones.

pumpkin patch #1

Last weekend, we decided to head to a pumpkin patch we had heard a good bit about to check it out. We heard that there was a petting area with farm animals and that pretty much sold us. The girls have been wanting to see cows and horses for awhile now so we figured this was a great opportunity to go.

The girls (all three of us) loved these two Bernese Mountain Dogs. Check out the size of Tenley’s hand compared to the size of the dog’s head…

Tenley picked a pumpkin, sister helped her with it and then…

Kick off to fall

On October 7th, Ethan and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary! Crazy, I can’t believe it’s been 7 years already! One of my friends from home came to visit, but came a couple days early (to my surprise) so that Ethan and I could head out for the night. He took me up to Lake Tahoe where we went mountain biking, enjoyed town, and had a fantastic dinner right on the water. We were able to sleep in a bit, go back down to the lake and enjoy lunch before heading back home. It was fantastic!

The day before Ethan and I headed out of town to celebrate, we took the girls and our friend Abby up to Squaw Valley to enjoy a Fall Festival day that they had. The girls got to have their faces painted, painted pumpkins, watched their first pie eating contest and went for a hay ride pulled by beautiful Clydesdale Horses.

I have more pictures from the day (better ones) that are on my camera which is currently being fixed. So once I get it back, I will post more pictures from the day.

Not sure if you can tell, but Tenley is wearing her swimming goggles. Yep, she found them in the stroller and insisted on wearing them around like they were super hero goggles or something. She thought she was hilarious and received many comments and smiles from others, so she kept on wearing them!

I will post more pics soon

bye-bye binkies!

IMG_1549

I did not have a chance to post this, but last weekend Tenley decided to say bye-bye to her binkies. I was in her room getting her dressed after a pre-dinner bath and she said she wanted another tutu. I told her that when she decided to say good bye to her binkies that Daddy would take her out to buy a tutu with her binkies. She said, “I go do that now. Daddy take me to go get another tutu now”. I wanted to make sure she understood what she was saying and explained that they would be gone forever and she would give them to the cashier at the store. She said “yes, I want to do that now” and called for Ethan to leave. So off they went! He took her to Kohl’s where she picked out a deep, hot pink tutu and she ran back into the house, tutu in hand beaming. That is until Tuk, who ran to greet her, ever so gently and discreetly snagged the tutu out of her hand and took off with it. Party foul.

So just over a week later, how are we doing? I told Ethan we will find out if Tenley is really that great of a sleeper of if she’s just content to lay there because of her binkies. We found out it’s the second option. We actually have to work it a bit at bedtime and she now gives us all the excuses, “my feet cold, my arms cold (as she pulls her arms out of her nigh-night), I need a drink, I give you a kiss, I give you a hug” and how can you say no to the last two?

Now she is yelling from her bedroom calling for Tuk to come save her “Tuk!! TUK TUK!!” and now it’s become “OH YEA!! OH YEA!” like she’s singing… oh my. She has just all of a sudden become a full blown, active, busy toddler. I am a busy momma right now.

fall harvest at squaw valley

This afternoon we headed to squaw valley for their fall harvest day. The girls got their faces painted, painted pumpkins, and rode on a hayride. Tenley found her goggles in the stroller and enjoyed wearing those. And since when does Hannah gray look like she's 6?? I will post the other pictures that aren't on my phone later.

almost there!

Tenley began her potty training last week after an impromptu decision to go for it. We delayed it ling enough with our long distance traveling that we just decided to go for it. Probably a smart move considering she would begin telling, "change my diaper!! Change my diaper!!" Before she would even go. She has done a great job especially since as the second child, we just can't stay home like we did with Hannah Gray.
