Trip to NYC

We had a very last minute business trip to New York City this last weekend. We were thankful for the opportunity and excited that I got to go with Ethan. This will be our last trip away together before Li'l Petro arrives, hard to believe!

I think we visited each neighborhood of NYC. We had THE best, real deal, homemade Italian food we've ever had in Queens, fantastic deli sandwhiches near SOHO, and awesome NY style Pizza in Manhattan. We even hit up the cheesecake too. We had a great time and squeezed a lot into 36 hrs in NYC. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Getting The Nursery Ready... one step at a time

Well, the crib arrived last week! Here's the finished product after Ethan had at it...

Baby Shower

The wonderful Hostesses...

We were incredibly blessed by a shower last weekend thrown by dear friends of ours in Cincinnati. It was so fun to bring things home for Li'l Petro as the reality of what's coming continues to grow. It's so hard to believe that we're into our 7th month already. The onesies we received seemed so tiny, but they seem huge when I think of what's growing inside. It's probably a good thing we don't know whether we're having a boy or a girl as the urge to go buy clothes grows!

Here are a few pictures from the shower...

Blizzard in the 'Nati!

Well, we finally got our snow for the year! Within 24 hours, we received about 13+ inches of snow! It was so much fun to feel like we were snowed in. Tanner ABSOLUTELY loved it and constantly wanted to be outside. He even let us bury him in it as you can see in one of the pictures. Oddly enough though, it's almost gone 2 days later!!

7 Months and Counting!

It's so hard to believe we're heading into the 7th month already! I guess it goes by fast especially when you don't find out until the first trimester is almost through! Li'l Petro is extremely active now and I think can stretch from one extreme side of my waist all the way across my belly to the opposite and lower side of my hip. Up until this point, sleeping has been completely normal. I'm now beginning to realize the wonders of a pillow between my knees. Amazing what little things can do. All and all, I'm feeling good and getting more and more anxious to meet the little one. I would say that I've offically "popped" as you can see in the pictures. I think my belly button resembles more of a hotdog now.

The nursery is becoming a little bit more of a nursery now with the stroller in there and a beautiful quilt made by Nana that's awaiting Li'l Petro. Soon we'll have a crib in there too. We're getting closer!

First baby purchase

Our first baby purchase arrived and we were all (including Tanner) excited about it. Ethan and I saw this stroller in an Outside magazine when we were still thinking, "someday when we have kids, we should totally get this stroller". We can't wait to introduce Li'l Petro to mountain biking as soon as he/she is old enough to wear a helmet and withstand some bumps. Tanner wasn't quite sure what to make of it, but he's since grown used to it. We're sure he will be fine and excited to be out and about with us.

Showing Signs of Pregnancy...finally!

Here are some pictures Ethan took at about the 6 month mark. I'm finally starting to show a little bump of some sort. By this point, Ethan had recently felt the baby move which was very cool and made it more a reality for both of us. The next day, we actually saw the baby move with some jabs to my side that made my belly jump. It appears as though we've got an active one! Go figure!!
