Sutton’s shoot #2

So I was sitting at our dinner table, a rustic table that I love and I couldn’t believe I didn’t think to suggest to use the table or the bowl on it for Sutton’s photo shoot with the photographers! It almost made me ill to think we had a couple great items that would have been just right and would have not needed a backdrop to use and we didn’t get to use it. So I just had to at least try…

Her old man expression is pretty hilarious.

I love these with her hand up by her face. This is how she was almost 24/7 when I was pregnant with her and the midwives could even feel her hand up by her face.

Sutton pics

We were thrilled while our photographers were here to photograph Sutton’s newborn pictures but we were so surprised when we got them back. There are some definite keepers but we missed some of the more “traditional” but super sweet photos of daddy’s hands holding little feet, or close ups of a little newborn face and we didn’t get any sweet mommy and daddy photos. We just expected a natural background (blurred out background of a room in our home, bed, etc) instead of a bright turquoise backdrop. I like turquoise, don’t get me wrong, but every single family photo shoot we have done has been outside or the “props” used in a home were in the background and not a literal backdrop. The photographers have been graciously working with us to edit and photoshop to see what we can come up with, but it left me wanting some more pictures of Sutton. It’s sad b/c even just a couple weeks later that brand new baby look was gone, but I did get a few pictures that I liked a little bit. It’s so hard because you get an idea of what you want in your head, but getting that in the frame is such a different story. Even just a couple weeks later, she already lost her neck to some rolls and was too alert to get sleepy pictures. Nonetheless, I am thankful for the great ones we did get from our photographer and plenty to put in her scrapbook and for us to frame.

4th of July

I know, I am so far behind on posting pictures, don’t judge. Smile We got to celebrate with our dear friends by going to a local parade and then grilling out for dinner. All the kids were so sweet at the parade especially the oldest 3. They were all grabbing candy, then handing most of their loot each time to Tenley to make sure she was getting some. Turns out she was graciously accepting all their generosity and her pockets were STUFFED. She came up to me (the adults were back away from the curb) and wanted to be held. I explained that if she wanted to get candy, she had to sit on the curb b/c that was the best spot. She looked at me and said, “it’s okay momma, Hannah Gray will get some for me”. She is so right, Hannah Gray would gladly do anything to help her out.

All the kids got to do sparklers for the first time and that was really fun, although they are definitely making the burning part of the stick SO much shorter. It’s probably safer that way

We had such a fun day with friends!

Sutton, meet Mimi and Grandpa!

My parents were able to travel and made it out to visit the last weekend in June. We had a great time with them and were so thankful that their health issues were worked out that they were able to travel to spend time with us here in Seattle. We had a great time and they were such a big help just loving on the girls and playing with them and giving me a chance to sleep in a little later than normal or to just slip away and be able to feed Sutton with a little QT, to help with laundry that seems to build up faster than ever.

We were able to do lots of fun things while they were here including a trip to the aquarium, a ferry ride over to Poulsbo to explore, a trip to Ikea (not really fun with kids, but necessary), celebrating Hannah Gray’s bday again, a trip to see Rainier on a beautiful summer day and swimming at the hotel pool the night before they flew out. We did the traditional dinner at Chinook’s and enjoyed a few different types of fresh fish as well as Uli’s sausages from Pike Place. Something we do every time my parents are out for a visit. We had a great time and can’t wait to see them again soon!!! Thanks for all your help while you were out here guys!

Also, you might notice that Tenley has been super into doing silly faces a lot, so there are some pictures that are just a funny progression of her faces

Hanging out

I think we have taken this shot of each of our girls, just lounging on the couch and how teeny tiny they have all looked. Makes me laugh...
